Information on Thomas Estley

The College is split into four pastoral teams, Thomas, Thorp, Estley and Sutton. Each team is grouped vertically. This means all tutor groups are made up of a mixture of Year 7, 8 and 9.

Relationships in the College are very important. We aim to create a learning environment where all learners' needs are met, where learning and achivement are promoted and valued. We try to foster an understanding in young people that being part of a community means that in return for privileges, everyone must accept responsibilities in return.

Broughton Astley is a village which has seen rapid growth in recent years and has a population in excess of 9,000. The College serves not only this village, but also draws pupils from the nearby villages of Whetstone, Cosby, Claybrook, Croft, Dunton Bassett, Frolesworth, Leire and Stoney Stanton.

About Old Mill

Old Mill Primary School is centrally located in the village of Broughton Astley which is an expanding residential village 10 miles to the south of the city of Leicester and is administered by Leicestershire County Council

The school which is one of three primary schools serving the village was built in 1981 on a modern open plan design and was extended in 1989. The school has excellent facilities and provides a caring environment and a range of balanced opportunities for educational development. It is therefore not surprising that Old Mill Primary has earned itself an excellent reputation of which we are justly proud. There are eleven well equipped teaching areas, two halls, two libraries, two studios and a computer room in the main building. It also has two double mobile classrooms providing temporary accommodation.
