I wish I had a house like you,
A bed, a warm fire to go to.
I wish I had a toilet like you
A Mum and Dad to comfort me
Just like you.
I wish I had a T.V. to watch
Instead of windows to look through,
I wish I could go into a shop and buy some bread.
But I have no money and a pain in my head
The hot, tasty smell of bread makes me angry.
But if I had a house like you,
What could I do in the warmth?
It would not be the same again
As my mucky clothes and mongrel dog.
My shop door which I slept in would be better than begging,
But the bills in a house cause so much dreading.
I wish I had a haircut like you.
But I am just a tramp
